By this petition, the petitioner seeks anticipatory bail in case FIR No.132/2016 under Sections 498A/406/34IPC registered at PS Jahangir Puri. The complainant in the FIR in question alleged mental and physical harassment for demand of dowry by the petitioner who is the husband of the complainant, her mother-in-law Smt.Raj Rani and sister-in-law Alka Bhatia. During the proceedings, the matter was also referred to mediation however no settlement could be arrived at between the parties. To show his bona fide, the petitioner has already deposited ₹75,000/- with the Registrar General of this Court.

On the last date of hearing, when this matter came up before this Court, the complainant alleged that the petitioner has been regularly visiting the neighbourhood of the complainant and defaming her. A status report was called for from the State which has been handed over today in Court.

As per the status report, the husband of the petitioner never went in the vicinity where the complainant is residing and around 6-7 months ago, the mother and sister of the petitioner had gone to the place that too only for inquiry from the tailor about stitching expenses claimed by the complainant. 4.
Considering the verification report, the allegations in the FIR and that the petitioner has already shown his bona fide, this Court deems it fit to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. It is, therefore, directed that in the event of arrest, the petitioner be released on bail on his furnishing a personal bond in the sum of ₹25,000/- with one surety bond of the like amount to the satisfaction of the Arresting officer/SHO concerned further subject to the condition that the petitioner will join the investigation as and when directed by the Investigating Officer and in case of change of residential address, the same will be intimated to the learned Trial Court. 5.
Petition is disposed of.
