O R D E R

% 05.05.2015 Marital discord between husband (petitioner) and wife (respondent no.2) had led to registration of present FIR under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC at police station Farsh Bazar, East Delhi against the petitioner. Petitioner and respondent no. 2 have now settled their disputes amicably.

They have decided to part ways and have, in fact, obtained a decree of divorce by mutual consent from the Family Courts, Karkardooma Courts on 26th February, 2015.

Respondent no.2 is present in Court and submits that she has already received `3.50 lacs out of the settled amount of `4.79 lacs. Remaining settled amount of `1.29 lacs has been paid by the petitioner to respondent no. 2 in cash in Court today. Respondent no. 2

submits that she has no objection in case the FIR is quashed. Keeping in mind that parties have settled their disputes by deciding to part ways, inasmuch as, obtained a decree of divorce by mutual consent, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping them entangled in present criminal proceedings. Accordingly, FIR No. 158/12 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at police station Farsh Bazar and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. A.K. PATHAK, J.
