The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to the respondent to provide information as sought for by the petitioner.

By an order dated 15.02.2018, the Chief Information Commission (CIC) had directed disclosure of the information as sought by the petitioner. However, it is seen that the proceedings before the CIC are still pending inasmuch as the CIC has called upon the respondent to show cause as to why action should not be taken in terms of Section 20(1) of the Right to Information Act, 2005.

In this view, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner seeks to withdraw the present petition with liberty to file a fresh. He, however,

requests that direction be issued for an expeditious disposal of the matter before the CIC.

The petition is dismissed as withdrawn with the aforesaid liberty. The CIC is requested to conclude the proceedings as expeditiously as possible. VIBHU BAKHRU, J AUGUST 29, 2018 MK
