% 02.09.2016 Crl.M.A. 13584/2016 Exemption allowed subject to just exceptions. W.P.(CRL) 2566/2016 By the present petition the petitioner seeks quashing of FIR No.501/2016 under Section 376 IPC registered at PS Jamia Nagar on the complaint of respondent No.2 on the ground that the parties have settled the matter and petitioner has married respondent No.2. The offence under Section 376 IPC being a serious offence the FIR in relation thereto cannot be quashed in view of the settlement between the parties as per the decision of the Supreme Court in Gian Singh Vs. State of Punjab & Anr. (2012) 10 SCC 303.

Petition is dismissed.
