The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that compensation be awarded to the petitioner in lieu of lands leased to the petitioner's late husband.

The lease in favour of the petitioner has been cancelled and this was challenged by the petitioner by way of a writ petition (being W.P.(C) No.9778/2015) captioned as 'Gyan Devi v. Goan Sabha, Jonapur & Ors.' which was dismissed by an order dated 14.10.2015. The question of cancellation of the lease has attained finality and the same issue cannot be re-visited.

In this petition, the petitioner seeks compensation for the amount already paid. It is seen that the petitioner/her late husband had paid annual lease rental till 2004. The petitioner has been in occupation of the property in question till 2010. Thus, the question of awarding any compensation for W.P. (C) 3778/2017

the same does not arise.

The petition is, accordingly, dismissed.
