O R D E R

% 05.09.2016 Marital discord between petitioner no.1 (husband) and respondent no.2 (wife) led to the registration of present FIR No.145/2014 under Sections 406/498A IPC at police station Kanjhawala. Petitioner nos.2 to 5 are the relatives of petitioner no.1. Petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 have settled their disputes before the Delhi Mediation Centre, Rohini District Courts, Delhi.

It is submitted that marriage between petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent on 16th May, 2016. Respondent no.2 is present in Court and has

been identified by SI Ashok Kumar PS Kanjhawala. She admits for having received entire settled amount and submits that she has no objection in case the present FIR is quashed. It is noted that investigations are still pending. Keeping in mind the fact that petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 have settled their disputes amicably, inasmuch as, the entire settled amount has been received and marriage between them has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce, no fruitful purpose would be served to keep the criminal proceedings pending.

Accordingly, the present FIR No.145/2014 under Sections 406/498A IPC registered at police station Kanjhawala and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. Dasti.
