% 25.04.2016 Learned counsel for the respondent-Union of India has handed over a copy of e-mail dated 21st April, 2016 written to her by Sh.Uppily Sridharan, Scientist "F", Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change. The relevant portion of the said e-mail reads as under:- "Thank you very much for your mail and this is in continuation of our telephonic talk; as I have already informed you that the issue regarding the Environment Clearance for all the iron and manganese ore mining projects are pending for want of the final report on the Carrying Capacity Study for Jharkhan. Originally the forest wing of the Ministry is conducting this study through the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), Dehradun.

Now the ICFRE has submitted the draft final report on the Carrying Capacity Study for Jharkhand which determines the cap on production and other mining related environmental issues. ICFRE has made a presentation to the Secretary MoEFCC on 11-4-2016. Now a committee headed by the

Additional Director General of Forest Conservation will study the report and a final decision will be taken on this issue after the committee gives their recommendation." In view of the aforesaid e-mail, learned counsel for the respondent-Union of India states that the petitioner‟s EC application shall be disposed of within a period of six weeks. Consequently, the present writ petition along with the application is disposed of with a direction to the respondent-Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change to dispose of the petitioner‟s EC application within a period of six weeks.
