% 23.08.2018 Respondent no. 2 is present in Court along with her counsel and has been identified by SI Sanjeev Kumar of Police Station Maurya Enclave. She says that she has settled the matter with petitioner of her own free will, vide Memorandum of Understanding/Settlement Deed dated 17th April, 2018 and has no objection in case FIR No. 539/2016 under Sections 354/509/451 IPC Police Station Maurya Enclave and consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Affidavit of respondent no.2 to this effect is also on record.
In view of the settlement arrived at between the petitioner and respondent no.2 voluntarily, I am of the opinion that no fruitful purpose would be served to keep the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, in
the interest of justice, the aforesaid FIR No. 539/2016 under Sections 354/509/451 IPC, registered at Police Station Maurya Enclave and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
