% 07.09.2016 Petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 are present in Court and have been identified by SI Sandeep Sharma of police station Vasant Kunj (North). Respondent no.2 admits that marriage between her and petitioner no.1 has been dissolved. Present FIR 188/2012 under Section 31 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 was registered at police station Vasant Kunj (North) against the petitioners, on the complaint of respondent no.2. Certain other criminal cases, which were pending between the petitioners and respondent no.2, have been settled before the Mediation Centre, Saket Court, New Delhi on 19th December, 2015. Respondent no.2 submits that she does not wish to pursue the present FIR any further in view of the settlement and the same may be quashed.

Keeping in mind that petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 have settled their disputes amicably, inasmuch as, their marriage has also been dissolved, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the present criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR 188/12 under Section 31 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. A.K. PATHAK, J.
