After hearing arguments for some time, learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner, on instructions, submits that since the petitioner had got back the possession way back in May, 2017, albeit, through police assistance, he would not press the present contempt petition provided some compensation was paid to the petitioner for delayed handing over of the vacant and peaceful possession of the property in question. According to him, the petitioner got the possession through execution and part of the property had also been demolished by the respondent. 2.

The above said aspect has been disputed by learned counsel for the respondent.

Learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner submits that without getting into the above said controversy, since the respondent has now CONT.CAS(C) 1034/2016 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. paid a sum of Rs.50,000/- to the petitioner as compensation, the petitioner is no longer interested in pursuing with the present contempt petition.
