W.P.(CRL) 2658/2016 By the present petition the petitioner seeks quashing of FIR No.990/2016 under Section 376/323/506 IPC registered at PS Mehrauli on the complaint of respondent No.2 on the ground that the parties have settled the matter.
Section 376 IPC being a serious offence the above-noted FIR cannot be quashed on the basis of compromise between the parties in view of the decision of the Supreme Court in Gian Singh Vs. State of Punjab & Anr. (2012) 10 SCC 303.
Consequently, the petition is dismissed.
