% 24.05.2017 The issue raised by the petitioners-Sat Pal Singh and Dharmpal Singh is covered by the decision of this Court in Shriniwas and Another versus Union of India and Others, W.P. (C) No. 6762/2016, decided on 4th August, 2016.

The respondents in the short counter affidavit have accepted the said position and have also stated that on the representation made by the petitioners, their pay has been stepped up as per Railway Board's Letter No. PC-V/2003/1/6/2 dated 4th February, 2010.

The writ petition is accordingly allowed with the direction that in case stepping up of pay has not been done, the same would given effect to and if it is already done, then no further orders are required. The arrears, if not, paid, would be paid within six weeks, failing which the respondents would
be liable to pay interest @ 9% per annum from the date of pronouncement of this order till payment.
