CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE A.K. PATHAK
O R D E R
% 26.04.2017 Petitioner has prayed that respondents be directed to change the name of the petitioner from 'ARYAN GUPTA' to 'ARYANN GUPTA'. During the course of hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions of Shri Aloke Kumar Gupta-father of Aryann Gupta, submits that petitioner is not seeking the change of name in the certificates already issued by the CBSE-respondent nos. 1 and 2. He further submits that Aryann Gupta is presently studying in Class XI and will appear in the board examination of Class XII to be conducted by the CBSE in the year 2018. It is further submitted that changed name of the petitioner has already been notified in the gazette. Photocopy of the gazette notification has been placed on record. Learned counsel for the respondent nos. 1 and 2 submits that
respondent nos. 1 and 2 will have no objection to change the name of the petitioner in future records, however, petitioner has to get his name changed in the school records first.
It is apparent from the gazette notification that petitioner has already changed his name from 'ARYAN GUPTA' to 'ARYANN GUPTA'. Accordingly, petitioner may approach the school-respondent no. 3 and also respondent no.2 for making necessary changes and in case any such application is made the necessary changes be made, in accordance with law. Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. Dasti.
