O R D E R

% 03.11.2016 Marital discord between the petitioner and respondent no. 2 had led to registration of the present FIR No. 751/2014 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC at P.S. Punjabi Bagh. Petitioner and respondent no. 2 have settled their disputes before Delhi Mediation Centre, Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi on 11th August, 2015. It is submitted that terms of the settlement have already been complied with. Marriage of the petitioner and respondent no. 2 has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent on 3rd May, 2016. Respondent no. 2 is present in Court and submits that she has received entire

settled amount and has no objection if this FIR is quashed. Keeping in mind that petitioner and respondent no. 2 have decided to part ways and have, in fact, obtained a decree of divorce by mutual consent, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping them entangled in the criminal proceedings. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 751/2014 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at P.S. Punjabi Bagh and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Petition is disposed of in the above terms. Miscellaneous application is disposed of as infructuous. Dasti.
