CRL.M.C. 3543/2016 Issue notice. Notice is accepted on behalf of the State. Respondent no.2 is present in court and accepts notice. She is identified by the IO. The petitioner has preferred the present petition to seek quashing of FIR No.348/2015 under Section 354D/506/509 IPC. The petition is premised on a settlement arrived at between the petitioner and respondent no.2.
The submission of learned counsel for the petitioner is that the petitioner and respondent no.2 were friends since 2012. However, on account of some differences between them, respondent no.2 made a complaint to the police on the basis of which the FIR came be registered under the aforesaid provisions.
Respondent no.2, who is present in court, states that she does not wish to pursue the complaint any further on account of the fact that the petitioner is not following or stalking her anymore.
The petitioner is present in court and he has undertaken to the court that he shall not in any manner try to get in contact with the complainant since they are no longer friends.
The petitioner is directed not to in any manner try to get in touch with the complainant.
Since the complainant does not wish to pursue the matter any further, no useful purpose would be served in proceeding further with the FIR in question and the proceedings emanating therefrom. The same are hereby quashed.
