% 21.09.2016 Petitioner and responded no.2 are neighbours. On the complaint of respondent no.2, present FIR 289/13 under Sections 354/354-A/506/452 IPC was registered at police station Khajoori Khas against the petitioner. It is pointed out that on the complaint of Ms. Puja, daughter of petitioner, cross FIR has been registered against one Sh. Kailash, brother of respondent no.2. It is submitted that parties have settled their disputes amicably being neighbours and are not willing to pursue their respective FIRs. Respondent no.2 is present in Court and has been identified by SI Kuldeep Singh of police station Khajoori Khas. Smt. Rani mother of respondent no.2 is also present in Court. Respondent no.2 is aged about 26 years and is able to take

her own decision. Respondent no.2 submits that she has no objection in case present FIR is quashed in view of the settlement arrived at between her and the petitioner.

Keeping in mind that incident took place in which both the parties lodged cross FIRs against each other and being neighbours they have settled their disputes, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the criminal proceedings pending.

Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR 289/13 under Sections 354/354-A/506/452 IPC registered at police station Khajoori Khas and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. A.K. PATHAK, J.
