Allowed, subject to just exceptions.

The parties seek extension of time for rendering and publication of two separate awards qua two separate contracts, which are before the same Arbitral Tribunal.

The parties have jointly approached this Court for extension of time. 3.1. The petitions are signed by the parties as well as their advocates. 3.2.

The petitions are also accompanied by affidavits of constituted Attorney of the petitioner and the Managing Director of the respondent. 4.

I am informed by counsel for the parties, that the Arbitral Tribunal entered upon reference in both the matters on 03.02.2017 and, that after expiry of the statutory period of 12 months, parties mutually agreed for extension of time by another 6 months.

I am informed by counsel for the parties that matter is at the stage of recording of evidence.

Having regard to the fact that parties have invested time and money in prosecuting the arbitration proceedings, I am inclined to extend the time as prayed by the counsel for the parties.

To be noted, though the prayer made in the petition is for extension of time by 6 months, counsel for the parties say that since the record is voluminous, it may be extended for 8 months.

The oral prayer made by the counsel for the parties is accepted. 9.

Accordingly, time for rendering the award is extended by another 8 months commencing from 03.08.2018.

The petitions are disposed of in the aforesaid terms. 11.
