% 26.09.2016 Issue notice. Notice is accepted on behalf of the State. Respondent no.2, who is present in court with her counsel, accepts notice. The vakalatnama of respondent no.2 is also on record. This petition has been preferred to seek the quashing of FIR No.261/2016 under Section 354/354A/323/341/506/509/34 IPC. The same is premised on a settlement arrived at between the petitioner and the complainant on 20.09.2016. A copy of the settlement has been placed on record.

The complainant states that she is no longer interested in pursuing the compliant and joins the prayer for quashing of the FIR in question. The petitioner, who is present in court, has assured the court that he shall not indulge in any such conduct in future. He also states that he is remorseful about his alleged conduct. He has also volunteered that he would deposit costs as an expression of his regret. Accordingly, no useful purpose would be served in proceeding further with the FIR in question and the proceedings emanating therefrom. The same are hereby quashed subject to deposit of Rs.20,000/- in the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund. The amount be deposited within two weeks and the receipt whereof be deposited with the I.O., and whereafter the case shall be closed.

Petition stands disposed of.
