W.P.(CRL) 1085/2015 Petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 were married on 7th February, 2013.

After three months of marriage, they started living separately on account of temperamental differences.

Present FIR was registered after eight months of marriage on the complaint of respondent no. 2. Petitioner

nos. 2 to 6 are relatives of petitioner no. 1. It is submitted that petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 have settled their disputes amicably. They have even taken a decree of divorce by mutual consent from the Family Courts, Dwarka, New Delhi on 25th February, 2015.

Respondent no. 2, who is present in Court, submits that she has already received the entire settled amount of `2.5 lacs and she has no objection in case FIR is quashed. Keeping in mind that petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 have decided to part their ways and have, in fact, obtained a decree of divorce by mutual consent, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping them entangled in the criminal proceedings. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 270/2013 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Baba Haridas Nagar and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
