% 28.01.2019 By this petition, the petitioner seeks parole on the ground that he has to file a Special Leave Petition and also to re-establish social ties. Status report has been handed over by proxy counsel for the learned Additional Standing Counsel. As per the status report, the permanent address of the petitioner, Mohd. Mustaq, has been verified. The petitioner belongs to Village Bangra Kothi, PS Bispi, District Madhubani, Bihar. A perusal of the nominal roll reveals that the petitioner has been in continuous custody since the date of arrest i.e. 21st January, 2014 and the sentence awarded to him being life imprisonment, for him to be able to achieve half the sentence and for the competent authority to determine the same would be difficult, which is the reason for rejection of grant of parole. W.P.(CRL) 2635/2018

Considering the fact that the petitioner has been in custody from the date of arrest i.e. 21st January, 2014, and that he has since been away from the society, this Court deems it fit to grant parole to the petitioner for a period of four weeks on his furnishing personal bond in the sum of ₹ 25,000/- with one surety of the like amount to the satisfaction of the trial court concerned.

The petition stands disposed of in the above terms. Order dasti.
