CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE A. K. CHAWLA

O R D E R

% 25.10.2017 Petitioner approached this Court seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus to the respondent-SDMC on account of its inaction in removal of an alleged unauthorized construction in the name of 'Kali Mata Mandir' temple on Sukhdev Market Road, Kotla Mubarakpur, New Delhi. Respondent-SDMC in the status report does not dispute the factum for the raising of the subject temple premises, possibly, partly on the right way within its jurisdiction. During the course of hearing, Mr. Satyakam, learned Additional Standing Counsel of Government of NCT submits that the matter relates to the religious sentiments and it shall be desirable, if, the instant subject is looked

into by the Religious Committee constituted by Government of NCT, in the first instance, to which Mr. Kalra, learned counsel for the petitioner has no objection. It is equally considered desirable by the Court.

In view of the foregoing, the instant writ petition is disposed of with the directions to the Religious Committee, constituted for the purpose, to look into the entire subject taking the instant writ petition to be the representation of the petitioner, to be disposed of, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within six months. Should the petitioner have any surviving grievance thereon, the petitioner would be at liberty to approach this Court afresh. Petition stands disposed of accordingly.
