O R D E R

% 12.04.2018 1.

On the last date of hearing i.e. on 04.12.2017, proxy counsel appearing on behalf of learned counsel for the petitioner had sought an adjournment on the ground that the arguing counsel was not in town. At the request of learned counsel for the petitioner, the matter was adjourned for today, while making it clear that if the petitioner does not give clear instructions to his counsel, then he shall present himself on the next date of hearing.

2.

Today learned counsel for the petitioner states that he has not received any instructions from his client as he is unable to contact him telephonically. That can hardly be a ground for us to continuously adjourn the matter. 3.

We may note that the present petition was filed on 22.11.2016 and listed before the Court for admission on 25.11.2016, whereafter several W.P.(C) 11147/2016

dates have been granted to the counsel for the petitioner to address arguments. On 06.09.2017, learned counsel for the petitioner was directed to obtain instructions as to whether the full amount of alimony has been paid by the petitioner to his spouse. Even today, learned counsel for the petitioner does not have any instructions on this. 4.

It appears that the petitioner is not interested in prosecuting the present petition, which is accordingly dismissed. HIMA KOHLI, J.
