% 29.09.2016 The petitioners have preferred the present petition to seek the quashing of FIR No.66/2016 registered under Section 341/323/354/509/34 IPC at PS Greater Kailash and the proceedings arising therefrom on the complaint of respondent No.2. Respondent No.2 is the wife of petitioner no.1. The petition is premised on a settlement deed dated 07.04.2016. The complainant is present with her counsel, whose vakalatnama is on record. He identifies the complainant. The I.O. also identifies the complainant. The matter was listed yesterday and adjourned so that the learned APP could interact with respondent No.2 to find out whether she had entered

into the settlement, and whether she is ready and willing to withdraw her complaint and agree to the quashing of FIR and the proceedings voluntarily and without any coercion or pressure.

Learned APP submits that on her interaction, she has concluded that there does not appear to be a case of coercion being exercised upon the complainant by the petitioner.

Respondent No.2 states that she would like to withdraw her complaint and she joins the prayer for quashing of the FIR and the proceedings arising therefrom.

Accordingly, no useful purpose would be served in proceeding further with the FIR in question and the proceedings emanating therefrom. The same are hereby quashed.
