% 02.05.2016 1.

This public interest petition has been filed alleging non-implementation of the recommendations of the Standing Committee on Coal and Steel of 15th Lok Sabha regarding investment of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) funds. 2.

In terms of the order passed by us on 22.03.2016 calling upon the respondents to inform this Court the action taken on recommendations of the Standing Committee, the learned ASG has placed before this

court the Action Taken Report by the Government on the Recommendations contained in the Report of the Standing Committee on Coal and Steel.

3.

As we could see, the said Action Taken Report was presented to 16th Lok Sabha on 06.05.2015 and it was also laid in Rajya Sabha on 06.05.2015.

The relevant portion of the said Action Taken Report reads as under:- "The Committee have analyzed the implementation of the observations/recommendations contained in their ThirtyFirth Report (15th Lok Sabha) on Demands for Grants for the year 2013-14 of the Ministry of Steel.

The analysis of the Committee shows that out of the recommendations pertaining to the Ministry of Steel contained in their Report, 2 recommendations (Recommendation Sl. Nos. 11, 16) have been implemented by the Government.

recommendations (Recommendation Sl. Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17 & 21) are under the process of being implemented by the Ministry, the reply in respect of recommendations (Recommendation Sl. Nos. 5 & 20) has not been accepted by the Committee and 3 recommendations (Recommendation Sl. Nos. 14, 18 & 19) are yet to be implemented by the Government.

The Committee would review the implementation of recommendations by the Ministry in due course.

The Committee, therefore, wish that the process of implementation of the recommendations under process be also expedited at the earliest and they be apprised of the same." 4.

The learned ASG, on instructions, further states that steps are also being taken for implementation of the other recommendations of the Standing Committee.

5.

In these circumstances, it is not necessary to keep this petition

pending any longer.

6.

The petition is accordingly disposed of.
