The petitioners have filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to the respondents to disburse compensation for acquisition of the land, described as "Land measuring 225 square yards comprised in Khasra No.340/56, Village Chandrawali @ Shahdara, District East, Delhi" (hereafter the subject land).

It is the petitioners' grievance that although the subject land was acquired, the compensation has not been paid. 3.
The learned counsel appearing for the respondents submits that the description of the land is inaccurate. He states that a reference has already been forwarded to the learned Additional District Judge, as there were disputes between the claimants in regard to the compensation. ₹3,34,54,187/- was deposited and a memorandum has been forwarded to the learned Additional District Judge.

The learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that the appellants did not receive any notice of the said reference. No notice was received during the pendency of the present petition, which was instituted in the year 2016, either. He points out that the counter affidavit filed by the respondents also does not mention the fact that a reference had been made. However, since in fact a reference has been made, he seeks to withdraw the present petition with liberty to avail all remedies for claiming compensation, including before the learned Additional District Judge. 5.
The petition is dismissed as withdrawn with liberty to the petitioners to avail of their remedies in accordance with law.
