% 04.10.2016 Petitioner no.1 and respondent no. 2 were married on 25th November, 2012. On account of temperamental differences they could not live together with effect from 14th April, 2014.

On the complaint of respondent no.2, present FIR 675/2015 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC was registered against the petitioners at police station Sarita Vihar on 31st August, 2015. Petitioner nos. 2 to 8 are relatives of petitioner no.1. Petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 have settled their disputes amicably before the Mediation Centre, Saket Courts, New Delhi on 31st October, 2015. Marriage between the petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 has also been dissolved by a decree of divorce on mutual consent by the

Family Court, Saket, New Delhi on 8th July, 2016. Respondent no.2 is present in Court and has been identified by SI Rakesh of police station Sarita Vihar.

She admits having settled the matter with the petitioner no.1 and having received the entire settled amount. She has no objection in case FIR is quashed.

Keeping in mind that husband (petitioner no.1) and wife (respondent no.2) have decided to part their ways, inasmuch as, their marriage has been dissolved by a decree of divorce, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping them entangled in criminal proceedings.

Accordingly, FIR 675/2015 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC registered at police station Sarita Vihar and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. A.K. PATHAK, J.
