Present petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. has been preferred by the petitioners for quashing of the FIR No.699/2009 registered under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC at PS Shakarpur. It is stated that the matter has been settled amicably with the respondent No.2 / complainant before the Delhi Mediation Centre, Karkardooma Courts, Delhi on 18.12.2014.

Respondent No.2 / complainant - with her counsel is present before the Court and is identified by the Investigating Officer. I have

made enquiries from respondent No.2 if the dispute has been settled by her with the petitioners of her own free will without any fear or pressure. She has stated that the dispute with the petitioners has been resolved amicably with her free consent and she has no objection to the quashing of the FIR. She also states that all the payments agreed to have been received. Remaining payment of `1 lakh has been paid to her vide DD No.024228 dated 27.09.2016, today in the Court. 3.

Petition is supported by affidavits of the parties. Copy of settlement order dated 18.12.2014 is on record. Divorce by mutual consent has been granted by learned Principal Judge, Family Court, Shahdara District, Delhi on 12.07.2016.

Since the matter has been settled between the parties amicably, no useful purpose will be served to continue with the proceedings. In the interest of justice and to put an end to the litigation and to settle in life after divorce, FIR No.699/2009 registered under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC at PS Shakarpur and all the proceedings arising therefrom are quashed. 4.

The petition stands disposed of accordingly.
