CRL.M.C. 3752/2016 This is a petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. filed on behalf of the petitioners praying for quashing of FIR No.108/2013, under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC, registered at Police Station Ghazipur, Delhi and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the matter has been amicably settled between the parties before the Mediation Centre,

Karkardooma Courts, vide Settlement Agreement dated 18th November, 2014. In terms of the said settlement, the petitioners have agreed to pay a total amount of Rs.80,000/- to the respondent No.2/complainant. Out of the said settled amount, a sum of Rs.60,000/- has already been paid to the respondent No.2/complainant and the last and final instalment of Rs.20,000/- has been paid to her out of the Court. Counsel accordingly prays for quashing of FIR No.108/2013 and all subsequent proceedings emanating thereform on the basis of said amicable settlement between the parties.

The respondent No.2/complainant is present in Court and has been identified by her counsel Mr.Satender Kumar, Advocate and the Investigating Officer Sub Inspector Arjun Kumar. She also confirms that she has amicably settled the matter with the petitioners and that she has received the total settled amount of Rs.80,000/- from the petitioner and she has got no objection if the FIR No.108/2013 is quashed against the petitioners. Considering the facts and circumstances and the fact that the matter has been amicably settled between the parties, no useful purpose would be served in continuing with the criminal proceedings against the petitioners. Hence, the FIR No.108/2013, under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Ghazipur, Delhi is hereby quashed. The petition is disposed of accordingly.
