O R D E R

% 30.09.2016 This is a petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for quashing of FIR No. 267/2009, under Section 498A/406 IPC, registered at Police Station Mukherjee Nagar. It is stated that the matter has been settled amicably between the parties.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the matter between the parties has been amicably settled vide settlement deed/memorandum of understanding dated 28th November, and the respondent No.2/complainant is left with no grievance against the petitioners. He further submits that the marriage between the parties has also been dissolved by a

decree of divorce dated 3rd June, 2016.

The respondent No.2/complainant is present in Court and has been identified by her counsel and the Investigating Officer ASI Jai Chand. She confirms that she has amicably settled the matter with the petitioners and is left with no grievance against the petitioners. She further submits that she has no objection if the FIR No. 267/2009, against the petitioners is quashed. Since the matter has been settled between the parties and the divorce by mutual consent has already been granted vide decree dated 3rd June, 2016.

In view of the amicable settlement between the parties and the fact that the marriage between the parties has already been dissolved, no useful purpose would be served by continuing with the criminal proceedings against the petitioners. In the interest of justice and to enable the parties to settle in life after divorce, FIR No. 267/2009, under Section 498A/406 IPC, registered at Police Station Mukherjee Nagar and all the proceedings arising therefrom are quashed The present petition is accordingly disposed of.
