W.P.(CRL) 1680/2017 The petitioners, who are majors, got married to each other in a temple, against the wishes of the parents of petitioner No.1. The petitioners were known to each other from before, which association was not liked by the parents of petitioner No.1 from the beginning. After they got married, the parents of petitioner No.1 have been troubling the petitioners. The petitioners have left their respective houses and have come to Delhi and are now residing at Tuglakabad. It has also been submitted on behalf of the petitioners that some persons had come looking for them and, therefore, they perceive threat. The petitioners have also stated that a complaint was lodged

before the concerned police station but the same was not accepted. Ms.Kamna Vohra, learned Additional Standing Counsel submits that on verification of the address provided in the petition, it was found that the petitioners do not reside at the aforesaid address. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that they had left that place for some time for fear of reprisal but now they have again started residing at the same address.

In this view of the matter, this Court directs the SHO of the concerned police station to be alert and if possible post a beat police somewhere near the place of residence of the petitioners. The telephone number of one of the officers of the police station should be provided to the petitioners and in case, the petitioners, in any distress or difficulty make a call, the same shall be responded promptly.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. Dasti.
