% 27.02.2018 Vide the present petition, the petitioners have sought an issuance of writ of mandamus directing the Registrar and Dean, Faculty of Law of the respondent university to introduce the One Year LL.M degree programme with effect from the academic year 2017-2018 in a time bound manner.

Mr.Amit Bansal, learned counsel who appears for the respondent has drawn my attention to the resolution dated 28.05.2015 passed by the Executive Council of the University of Delhi which is reproduced below:- "18. Resolved that the following recommendation of the Academic Council made at its meeting held on 21.06.2014 relating to LL.M. (One-Year, Two-Year and Three-Year) Degree course in the Faculty of Law and consequent amendment in relevant Ordinance/s be

accepted (vide Appendix-XXI).

"*Resolved that the recommendations of the Faculty of Law made in its meeting held on 16.06.2014 to amend Ordinance II, Ordinance V(1), Appendix to Ordinance V(2) and Ordinance VII as recommended by the Faculty of Law be accepted and recommended to the Academic Council for approval.

*Proposed amendment is approved and effective date will be decided by the Faculty in consultation with the University authorities.""

He therefore, submits that it is not as if the respondents are averse to introduce the one year LLM programme. He however submits that the said decision cannot be taken without ensuring that the entire infrastructure and other facilities are made available for conducting one year, two years and three years LLM degree programmes as is proposed in the resolution itself. Mr.Bansal further submits that as and when the requisite infrastructure and other facilities are made available, the University of Delhi will try to introduce the aforesaid courses. In view of the aforesaid position, the petitioner does not wish to press the present petition any further.

The petition is dismissed as not pressed. The pending application also stands disposed of.
