The petitioners are aggrieved by the decision of the concerned passport authority in not processing the petitioners' applications for passports. The learned counsel appearing for the respondent submits that the petitioners' applications were not proceeded with since the applications filed by the petitioners disclosed that a court case was pending and no objection certificate (NOC) from the concerned court was not filed. 2.

The petitioners submit that although they were involved in a court case; they have been acquitted in that case and there is no case pending against the petitioners in any court.

They state that they would have submitted the necessary documents if they received any such communication in this regard from the respondents. 3.

There does not appear to be any serious reason as to why the petitioners' applications for passport ought to have been withheld. In the

circumstances, the petitioners are directed to file necessary court orders of acquitting them, before the concerned passport authority. If the said order is filed within a period of one week from today, the concerned passport authority shall process the petitioners' applications for passports, in accordance with law without charging further fees. In the event, the passport authority decides to decline their application for passports for any reason, he shall communicate the same to the petitioners within a period of two weeks, thereafter.

The petition is disposed of with the aforesaid directions. 5.
