% 04.10.2016 Issue notice. Mr.Satish Aggarwala, counsel for the respondents accepts notice. He wishes to place on record a short affidavit in reply to the petition.
In brief the petitioner's grievance is that although the search and seizure was conducted in premises on 02.12.2015 and several documents - contained about 81 files were resumed, no further action has been taken. The petitioner contends that many of these documents are essential and have to be furnished to the bank and statutory authorities such as VAT officials etc. in compliance of the different previous provisions of law. The revenue submits that investigations are ongoing and if the petitioner needs the originals for any bonafide purpose, there is no objection in principle to release such documents provided self-attested copies thereof are provided to the DRI. In the light of the submissions, the originals of bill of entries, exchange control copies and the documents pertaining to job work
which are, according to the petitioner, essential and in furtherance of his bank transaction should be released to the petitioner subject to its furnishing self assisted copies at the time of return to the respondentrevenue. The directions shall be complied with within a week from today.
The writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. Dasti.
