% 09.11.2016 22 years old daughter of the petitioner, who has been missing since 30.09.2016, has led to the filing of the present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of habeas corpus. Counsel for the petitioner submits that even after the police party arrived, one of the suspects reached the DAV College, where the girl was found.
Mr. Mehra, learned Standing Counsel has handed over in Court the status report. Along with the status report, the statement of the missing girl has also been annexed. As per the statement recorded before Ms.Parminder Kaur, Judicial Magistrate, Jalandhar, the missing girl has stated that she left her parental home out of her own free will and she wishes to reside at Jalandhar and not with her parents. Mr. Mehra submits that the girl has given a clean chit to the two persons named by the complainant. In view of the statement made by the daughter of the petitioner, the petitioner does not press this petition.
