The grievance of the petitioner is that despite having made an application to the competent authority, processed through the Jail, seeking parole, no decision thereon has been taken.

Learned Additional Standing Counsel accepts notice on behalf of the State.

Learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State submits that the application seeking parole was filed by the petitioner in the Jail on 17th September, 2016 and has now been received with the Home Department. He states that a decision on the application will be taken within a period of two weeks.
