% 24.04.2017 Learned counsel for the respondents submits that vide office order dated 6th April, 2017 relaxation has been granted to as many as 63 officers. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that in view of the relaxation, the writ petition to this extent is infructuous. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that after grant of relaxation, review Departmental Promotion Committee meeting is to be held.
We hope and trust that the respondents will convene the review Departmental Promotion Committee shortly and preferably within a period of three months from today. In case there is abnormal delay, it will be open to the petitioners to file an application in the present writ petition.
We also clarify that we have not expressed any opinion on merits. In case the petitioners have any grievance even after the review Departmental Promotion Committee is held, it will be open to them to file appropriate proceedings in accordance with law.
