% 17.10.2016 On the oral prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, parents, brother and sister of petitioner, namely, Sheela, Trilok Chand, Bharti and Himmat Singh are impleaded as respondent nos. 3 to 5. Amended memo of parties be filed during course of the day. On the complaint of respondent no. 2, present FIR No. 237/2014 under Sections 406/498-A/34 IPC was registered against the petitioner and his relatives, that is, respondent nos. 3 to 5 at police station Prasad Nagar. Petitioner and respondent no. 2 have settled their disputes amicably before the Counselling Centre of Family Courts, Central District, Tis Hazari Court, Delhi on 3rd October, 2015, inasmuch as, terms of settlement have also been complied with.

Marriage between the petitioner and respondent no.2 has

been dissolved by a decree of divorce on mutual consent by the Family Court (Central) Tis Hazari Court on 19th July, 2016. Respondent no. 2 is present in Court and has been identified by the Investigating Officer. She admits having settled the matter and received the entire settled amount from the petitioner.

She submits that she is not willing to pursue the FIR any further and the same may be quashed.

Keeping in mind that petitioner and respondent no. 2 have settled their disputes amicably, inasmuch as, their marriage has been dissolved, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the present criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 237/2014 under Sections 406/498-A/34 IPC registered at police station Prasad Nagar and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. A.K. PATHAK, J.
