O R D E R

% 08.10.2018 On the first call, a pass over was sought. On the second call, none appears on behalf of the petitioner.

By way of this petition, the petitioner seeks parole on the ground that he has to arrange the ring ceremony of his son, to arrange funds for the same, re-establish the social ties, and also challenges the communication dated 16th August, 2018 whereby his application seeking parole on the ground aforesaid was rejected.

The reasons for rejection of the parole by the competent authority was that the petitioner had also availed furlough for a period of two weeks with effect from 16th May, 2018.

Status report has been handed over which is taken on record. As per the status report, the factum that the ring ceremony of the petitioner's son has to be performed has been verified from his wife. However, no date has been fixed.

As per the latest nominal roll handed over by the learned ASC after the furlough dated 16th May, 2018 for a period of two weeks, the petitioner was granted furlough for a period of three weeks with effect from 7th September, 2018 to 28th September, 2018. Thus, the petitioner could have availed that period for the ring ceremony of his son, arranging funds for the same and to re-establish the social ties. Thus, this Court finds no ground to grant parole to the petitioner. The petition is dismissed.

A copy of this order be communicated to the petitioner through the Superintendent, Tihar Jail.
