By the present petition the petitioner seeks quashing of FIR No.78/2016 under Sections 392/186/332/353 IPC registered at PS South Campus wherein besides the respondent No.2 one Constable Ranbeer who caught hold of the petitioner with Constable Dharmender was also injured, on the ground that the parties have settled the matter. 2.
The allegations in the FIR against the petitioner are that when the complainant Rajender Singh was standing near the Satya Niketan Bus Stop for taking bus the petitioner who was standing near TPT camp near the roadside made gestures to call him. When he reached closer, the petitioner became violent and snatched the purse of the complainant and ran away towards the jungle. While following the petitioner, the complainant saw some police officials who also ran after the petitioner. Constable Ranbeer CRL.M.C. 4204/2016
and Constable Dharmender caught hold of the petitioner during which process Constable Ranbeer suffered an injury on his right hand finger. 3.
Considering the seriousness of the allegations, the above-noted FIR cannot be quashed in view of the decision of the Supreme Court reported as 2012(9) Scale 257: 2012 (10) SCC 303 Gian Singh Vs. State of Punjab & Anr.

Petition is dismissed.
