W.P.(CRL) 3108/2016 Marital discord between the respondent no. 2 and petitioner no. 1 had led to registration of present FIR No. 610/2013 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC at P.S. Dabri. Petitioner nos. 2 to 6 are relatives of petitioner no. 1.

Petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 have settled their disputes amicably before the Mediation Centre, Dwarka Courts, New Delhi on 30th November, 2015. Their marriage has already been dissolved by a decree of

divorce by mutual consent dated 8th June, 2016. Respondent no. 2, who is present in Court, submits that she has received the entire settled amount and is not willing to pursue the FIR any further. Keeping in mind that petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 have decided to part ways and have, in fact, obtained a decree of divorce by mutual consent, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping them entangled in the criminal proceedings.

Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 610/2013 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at P.S. Dabri and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
