% 09.08.2017 Crl.M.A.12806/2017 (Reduction of surety amount) The petitioner has prayed for reduction of the surety amount for his release on parole.
The petitioner had been granted parole by this Court vide order dated 12.07.2017. One of the conditions for release of the petitioner was that he was to furnish a bond in the sum of Rs.10,000/- with one surety of the like amount to the satisfaction of the Superintendent of the concerned jail. It has been submitted that because of his penury, the petitioner could not arrange for any surety of Rs.10,000/-. As such a prayer has been made for reducing the surety amount.
For the reasons stated in the application, the prayer is allowed. The order dated 12.07.2017 is modified to the extent that the petitioner would be required to furnish bond in the sum of Rs.2000/- with
one surety of the like amount to the satisfaction of the Superintendent of the concerned jail, for his release on parole. The other conditions and the period of release shall continue.
The application is allowed.
