O R D E R

% 21.03.2017 It is submitted that petitioner and respondent nos. 2 to 4 have settled their disputes vide a Settlement/Compromise Deed dated 3rd October, 2016, therefore, FIR No. 576/2016 under Sections 308/34 IPC registered at Police Station Punjabi Bagh, on the complaint of respondent no. 2, may be quashed. It is further submitted that petitioner and respondent nos. 2 to 4 are known to each other. A quarrel took place between them on some trivial matter, wherein petitioner along with his 2-3 associates caused injuries to the respondent nos. 2 to 4.

Learned Additional Standing Counsel submits that in the

investigation, 2-3 unknown associates of the petitioner could not be identified, inasmuch as petitioner has failed to give their names. Respondent nos. 2 to 4 are present in Court and have been identified by SI Surender Singh, P.S. Punjabi Bagh. They submit that they do not wish to pursue the FIR any further, in view of the settlement arrived at between them and the petitioner, inasmuch as they have settled the matter with the petitioner of their own free will and without any undue force, coercion and pressure. They further submit that they do not wish to pursue the FIR even against 2-3 unknown associates of the petitioner.

Keeping in mind the fact that settlement has been arrived at between the petitioner and respondent nos. 2 to 4, no fruitful purpose would be served to keep the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 576/2016 under Sections 308/34 IPC registered at Police Station Punjabi Bagh and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
