O R D E R

% 26.10.2016 On the complaint of respondent no. 2, present FIR No. 798/2015 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC was registered at Police Station Shalimar Bagh against the petitioner no. 1 and his relatives, that is, petitioner nos. 2 to

4. Petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 have settled their disputes amicably. Their marriage has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent dated 19th September, 2016. Respondent no. 2 is present in Court and admits having received the entire settled amount. Respondent no. 2 submits that she has settled the matter on her own free will and without any undue force and coercion or pressure. She further submits that she is not

willing to pursue the FIR and the same may be quashed. Keeping in mind that petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 have decided to part ways and have, in fact, obtained a decree of divorce by mutual consent, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping them entangled in the criminal proceedings.

Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 798/2015 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Shalimar Bagh and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
