2. This is a petition seeking anticipatory bail in FIR No. RC 9(S)/2017 under Sections 420, 468, 471 & 120B IPC read with Sections 13(1)(d) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 ('PC Act') registered with the Central Bureau of Investigation ('CBI').

3. The case against the Petitioner concerns making use of a fake CBI Identity Card by the Petitioner as his identity card. The Court would not delve further into the facts that have been unearthed so far lest it should prejudice the case of the Petitioner in future.

4. Mr. Vivek Sood, learned Senior counsel for the Petitioner sought to urge that on more or less the same facts a case has already been registered by the CBI in which the Petitioner has been granted a regular bail by the Court in Mumbai and, therefore, this subsequent case has been registered by the CBI on similar facts only to frustrate the said bail order.

5. The Court is unable to agree with the above submission. A perusal of the case registered by the CBI now against the Petitioner in which anticipatory bail has been sought reveals that there is a larger racket of persons involved in the making of fake identity cards of the CBI. It involves several other persons whose names have surfaced. Clearly, this is not a case where the Petitioner can be granted anticipatory bail.

6. The petition is dismissed.
