CRL.M.C. 3975/2016 This is a petition under Section 482 Cr.PC moved by the petitioner for quashing of FIR No.225/2011 registered at Police Station Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi under Sections 498A/34 IPC and consequent proceedings emanating therefrom on the ground that the parties have compromised the matter.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the complainant is the wife and the petitioner himself is the husband.

Due to some misunderstanding taken place between the parties, FIR No.225/2011 P.S. Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi was registered. Learned counsel for the petitioner

has further submitted that immediately thereafter due to the interventions of the relatives and friends, the matter has seen settled and the respondent No.2/wife Sonia is residing with him as wife and all the disputes were amicably settled and now nothing remains to be adjudicated upon between the parties. Counsel for the petitioner further submitted that the petitioner wants to live peacefully and submitted that the present FIR No.225/2011 under Sections 498A/34 IPC be quashed.

Complainant Sonia is present in person with counsel Mr.Sanket Gupta along with IO, SI Suresh Kumar who identified the complainant. The complainant admits that she is residing with her husband/petitioner as husband and wife and there is no dispute remaining between the parties and she has got no objection if FIR No.225/2011 be quashed. Keeping in view the facts that the parties have compromised the matter with each other amicably, no useful purpose would be served by continuing the criminal proceedings against the petitioner, which will only be an exercise in futility and wastage of precious time of the Court. Accordingly, the petition is allowed and the FIR No.225/2011registered at Police Station Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi under Sections 498A/34 IPC and consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed subject to achieve the goal of better relationship between the husband and wife.

The petition stands disposed of accordingly.
