% 21.06.2017 WP( CRL) 1830/2017 & CRL.M.A. 10108/2017 (interim ex-pate direction) Ld. counsel for the petitioners states that he has instructions to state that the petitioners do not press the petition as regards the respondent Nos. 2 to 7 and be deleted from the array of respondents. It is ordered accordingly.

Issue notice. Mr. Lau accepts notice on behalf of the respondent no.1.
Mr. Lau on instructions from the IO submits that when the police officials visited the address of the petitioners, none of the petitioners was found residing there.
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners had temporarily gone away from the said address on account of apprehension stated in the petition. It is also stated that both of them are still residing at the address mentioned in the petition. It requires no elaboration that it is bounden duty of State to extend protection of life and liberty to the petitioners.
In view of the foregoing, the petition is disposed of with the direction that protection shall be extended to them by the SHO PS Vasant Kunj (South) on assessing threat perception at the earliest and in the meantime, the petitioners shall be provided with the contact numbers of a beat constable and the SHO concerned, so that the petitioner can seek requisite protection in case of exigency, as and when required.
Petition and the application are disposed off accordingly. Dasti.
