% 07.11.2016 Issue notice. Notice is accepted on behalf of the State. Respondent no.2 is present in court and accepts notice.

The petitioner has preferred the present petition to seek the quashing of FIR No.500/2014 registered at PS North Rohini under Section 354D IPC and the proceedings arising therefrom. The charge sheet already stands filed in the case.

The parties have arrived at a settlement in Lok Adalat on 24.07.2016. Respondent no.2, who is present in court, states that she does not wish to pursue the complaint any further and joins the prayer for quashing of the FIR and the proceedings arising therefrom. She states that she has agreed

to settle the case on account of the promise given by the petitioner not to follow or trouble her or anyone else in future. The petitioner is also present in court and he is regretful of his conduct. His father is also present and both of them state that they are willing to atone for the conduct of the petitioner by making a contribution to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund.

Even though the charge sheet stands filed in the present case, considering the fact that the petitioner is remorseful of his conduct and is a young person, I am inclined to quash the FIR and the proceedings arising therefrom, as even the complainant is not interested in pursuing the complaint any further.

Let the petitioner deposit a sum of Rs.1 lakh in the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund within two weeks. Subject to deposit of the same, the FIR and the proceedings arising therefrom shall stand quashed. The receipt of payment of costs be provided to the I.O., whereafter the FIR shall be quashed.

Petition stands disposed of.
