The petitioner has filed the present petition under Section 9 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (hereafter the 'Act'), inter alia, praying for certain interim relief.

After some arguments, the learned counsel for the parties state that

they are agreeable that a Sole Arbitrator is appointed to adjudicate the disputes between the parties and the present petition is directed to be considered as an application under Section 17 of the Act. 5.

With the consent of the parties, Mr Sanjeev Puri, Senior Advocate is appointed as the Arbitrator. It is clarified that the aforesaid order is subject to the necessary disclosure and qualification under Section 12 of the Act. 6.

The learned counsel for the parties further state that prior to referring the disputes to the arbitration, they would like to endeavour to settle the disputes amicably.

In view of the said statement, it is directed that the Arbitrator shall not enter appearance for a period of six weeks from today. In the meantime, the parties are directed to appear before the Delhi High Court Mediation and Conciliation Centre (DHCMCC) on 24.11.2016 at 3:30 PM to make an attempt to amicably resolve their disputes. 7.

The petition is disposed of.
