% 27.01.2017 By the present petition the petitioner seeks quashing of FIR No. 707/2014 under Section 135 of the Indian Electricity Act, registered at PS Fatehpur Beri, Delhi on the complaint of Respondent No.2 and the proceedings pursuant thereto on the ground that the parties have settled the matter.

Ms. Jaya Thakuria, Senior Legal Manager and authorized representative of respondent No.2 is present in Court and is identified by the learned counsel. She states that as against a theft bill for a sum of CRL.M.C. 4305/2016

₹3,68,600.91/- the respondent No.2 has entered into a settlement with the petitioner for a sum of ₹3,13,310/- which amount has already been paid by the petitioner and thus the respondent No.2 does not wish to pursue the above-noted FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. Since the parties have settled the matter no useful purpose would be served in continuing with the above-noted FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. Consequently, FIR No. 707/2014 under Section 135 of the Indian Electricity Act, registered at PS Fatehpur Beri, Delhi and proceedings pursuant thereto are hereby quashed.

Ms. Jaya Thakuria, authorized representative of respondent No.2 has signed this order sheet in acknowledgment of her statement made before this Court. Petitioner who is a 73 year old bed-ridden lady is exempted from appearing before this Court.
