% 06.08.2015 By the present petition, the petitioners who are husband and wife amongst themselves, seek protection as they apprehend reprisal at the hands of respondent Nos.2 to 10 who are related to their estranged daughter-inlaw. It has been submitted on behalf of the petitioners that immediately after the marriage of their son, the daughter-in-law started misbehaving with them and the family members of the daughter-in-law have been supporting her time and again. They have been doling out threats to the petitioners. The status report which has been filed reveals that the daughter-in-law of the petitioners complained against the petitioners and others for demand of dowry and harassment because of non payment of such dowry. The complaint was sent to CAW Cell.

The petitioners would perhaps be called by the CAW Cell to settle the matrimonial dispute between the son and daughter-in-law. As of now, the petitioners do not apprehend any serious trouble at the hands of respondent Nos.2 to 11.

The prayer of the petitioners is that, in case, in future, the respondents threaten or commit any act which would endanger their peace, they be protected by the police. It is, therefore, prayed that the telephone number of the beat constable of the concerned police station be given to them so that in case of emergency, the officer concerned could be contacted. There is no difficulty for this Court in allowing such a prayer. The SHO concerned would give the telephone numbers of two of the constables of the police station who are normally assigned the beat duty with the instruction that in case any telephone call comes from the petitioners in case of emergency, it should be responded and action be taken immediately. Considering the fact that as of today there is no apprehension of any untoward incident, the petitioner seeks to withdraw this petition. Needless to say that the petitioners would be at liberty to approach this Court in case they apprehend any danger in future. The petition is dismissed as withdrawn with the liberty and direction aforesaid.
